About the Menlo Park Library Foundation

Menlo Park

Belle Haven
Branch Library

The Menlo Park Library Foundation's Mission is to develop a private endowment to supplement the Library's resources for the enhancement of facilities, services, and programs.

Together We Can Enrich Our Library

Your support will help create an endowment, a stable source to supplement public funding, for the Menlo Park Library.

The first campaign of the Foundation is the renovation of the Library Children’s Area, providing a bright, joyful atmosphere and new technology for the children of Menlo Park.

In the near future Menlo Park will need an expanded library building to accommodate new and changing library services and growing community needs.

Library Financing

Menlo Park has always made its library a high priority. In 1992 the main library building was expanded and refurbished through a $5-million bond issue. The Belle Haven branch was opened in 1999 to serve as both a community and school library.

Today cities throughout California are having difficulties maintaining library services. Only 62% of the Menlo Park Library’s annual budget comes from public funds; the remainder is from contributions by the Menlo Park Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library, grants, private endowments, and donations.

The Foundation exists to help the Menlo Park Library keep pace with our community’s needs.
